Human Resources

Principle: An effective institution has a qualified staff supported by the financial and physical recourses necessary to advance the mission, beliefs, and programs of the institution.


4.1 the administration head of a school system shall have earned from a regionally accredited institution at least 18 semester hours of credit in administration or supervision as part of a graduate degree or in addition to the degree.


4.2 Other administrative and supervisory personnel in the central office having responsibilities for institutional services shall have earned a graduated degree related to their assigned field from a regionally accredited institution.


4.3 The administration head of the institution and administrative or supervisory assistants shall have earn from a regionally accredited institution at least 18 semesters hours credit in administration or supervision as part of a graduate degree or in addition to the degree.


4.4 The administration head of an institution shall be paid an annual salary higher that any other employee in the institution.


4.5 All institutional personnel shall have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution that includes 12 semester hours of credit in professional education as part of or in addition to the degree.


4.6 Instructional personnel shall have a college major ( at least 24 semester hours ) or certificate in their assigned field for the major portion of the school day.


4.7 Instructional personnel mat teach for less that a major potion of the school day a subject in which they have earned at least 12 semesters hours of credit.


4.8 Counselors shall have earned a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution in their assigned field.


4.9 All professional personnel shall earn 6 semester hours of credit or the equivalent during each five years of employment.


4.10 The human resources of the institution shall be deployed and supported to facilitate student learning.


4.11 Paraprofessionals shall be qualified and trained to perform in the specific area of their responsibility and shall be under the supervision of professional personnel.


4.12 The institution shall have written policies relating the qualification, selection, training, and assignment of substitute teachers.


4.13 The institution shall provide the time and resources for professional development or training activities for all personnel.
4.14 Each Each classroom teacher's daily schedule shall include at least one period of less than 45 minutes for planning that is unencumbered by institutional or supervisory responsibilities.


4.15 Students enrollment for each class shall meet federal or state requirements for the specific course.
