Principle: An effective institution knows and meets the needs of its students and operates based on a mission and set of beliefs developed and shared by its stakeholder mission that reflects the collaborative

i1.1 The institution shall have a written statement of beliefs and mission that reflects the collaborative effort of stakeholders and describes the expectations for student learning.

1.2 The beliefs and mission shall guide the teaching and learning process and the general operation of the institution.

1.3 The beliefs and mission shall be reviewed annually, revising when needed, and disseminated to stakeholders.

1.4 The beliefs and mission shall take into account research, best practices, survey and assessment data concerning preparation of students for the workforce.
