On February 22nd, Mr. Rose's Digital Fundaments/Robotics went to NWSCC to view the robotics technology from ABB Robotics. ABB will be supplying the rail car company with robots used to spray paint the rail cars manufactured. |

The Muscle Shoals Center for Technology welcomed eighth graders to a tour of the campus on Monday and Tuesday, February 11th and 12th. This tour provided a look into classes at the CFT as the eighth graders visited many classes and participated in activities in order to allow students to see which classes satisfied their interests. Eighth Students register for high school classes on Monday, February 18th, 2008.

On Friday February 8th, 2008, Mr. Charuhas’s Auto Body class traveled to Birmingham to attend the O’Reilly World of Wheels Car Show. They learned about cars, motorcycles, after-market parts, and other car accessories.

The cosmetology department has given the perfect gift. The students scheduled appointments as client’s calls began to pour in. The customers could have a choice of hair, makeup, and wardrobe with backgrounds for the perfect glamour shot. This glitzy glamour package was worth $50 for 8x10, 5x7, 8 wallets or $25 for 5x7, 8 wallets. Click here to experience the glamour. |

On Tuesday December 11, 2007 the Army National Guard visited the Center for Technology to share information about options for joining the National Guard. Students enjoyed the Hummer, the Rock Climbing Wall and the Orange County Chopper. |

On November 20th bring 2 canned food items and get one hot dog in return! (One day before Thanksgiving Break) The can food drive is sponsored by SkillsUSA. The can foods will be distributed by the Salvation Army. Please help us in bringing canned or boxed food items for the needed people in our community. Thanks for your support!

Allen Thornton Career Technical Center hosted the 2007 Fall Leadership Conference on November 13, 2007 at the Florence Coliseum. Ten local schools and approximately 500 students were in attendance. Students participated in leadership enrichment activities and heard guest speakers promote leadership concepts. |

Muscle Shoals Center for Technology is joining forces with Wise Alloys. Officially started on October 2007, the program is designed to create links between the Career/Technical school and Wise Employees.
Wise provides opportunities for the school including guest speakers, field trip opportunities, mentoring and personnel development for staff. Based on these advantages, the school can produce a more effective employee.
School Staff and Wise employees enjoyed their initial meeting on October 19, 2007 where they met to discuss possibilities and advantages to both parties. |
